Your responsibilities
Leaseholders of houses are responsible for all maintenance and repair of the property.
Tenants are responsible for keeping their homes in a reasonable condition so repairs and maintenance can be carried out with minimal disruption and so personal belongings aren’t damaged.
We would ask that you do the following:
- keep your property clean, tidy and reasonably decorated
- clear all unwanted belongings (including from roof spaces or gardens)
- carry out minor repairs (such as replacing plugs and chains for sinks and basins)
- take preventative action to avoid damage (for example; regular airing of the property to avoid condensation caused by cooking, heating etc).
Please remember that someone else will be moving into your home should you decide to leave.
We do not expect all our residents to carry out small or minor repairs: if you live in supported housing or are in receipt of a disability allowance, for example, then we may carry out a wider range of repairs to your home.
