Becoming a Spirita resident
Spirita properties are available to rent through Choice Based Letting Schemes. This means that in order to apply for one of our properties you must first register with one of these schemes.
Each CBL scheme will be able to offer you more information on how they work individually, how to register with them and how to bid. Bidding simply means that you are asking the landlord to consider you for that particular property.
When you have registered with a scheme they will tell you what ‘band’ you are in. These bands are used to prioritise applicants in order of need, and are decided based on the Housing Allocations Policy.
Once you have registered, you can start bidding for properties you are interested in. Spirita properties are advertised by the CBL schemes in local papers, in council offices, libraries and on each CBL schemes website. Information can also be posted out to those with limited mobility.
Once you have bid for a property, the scheme will make a list of everyone who has placed a bid, then decide who has the highest priority. Your priority for housing is decided by what band you are in. The CBL scheme will then contact the successful bidder and offer them the property. Find the right CBL scheme for your area below.

However, there are a few areas where Spirita properties are not part of a Choice Based Letting Scheme, and can only be applied for directly through Spirita. These areas are Kesteven (Grantham), Charnwood (Loughborough) and Ashfield (Hucknall, Kirkby and Ashfield, Sutton Ashfield, Shelby and Selston). Also properties in Rushcliffe, Gedling and Broxtowe can currently be applied for directly through Spirita, although these areas will become part of a Choice Based Letting Scheme later on this year.
