As your landlord, Metropolitan have a legal obligation to make sure all appliances supplied for you to use are maintained and in a safe condition, every 12 months. As part of the safety check,l a Carbon Monoxide Alarm is provided and installed free of charge.
Even if your meter is in debt, if you do not use the appliance or if the appliance has been capped off previously, it must be checked every year as this is a legal requirement. If we cannot gain access to complete the safety check, we follow a process which results in taking legal action against the resident not allowing access.
