Residents save with Switch with Which?

Metropolitan Housing Partnership (MHP) has partnered with Switch with Which? to offer a price comparison site to its residents so that they can save on their energy bills.

The partnership, the first Switch with Which? has formed with a housing organisation, will allow residents of MHP to compare prices, payment methods and calculate the savings they could make by switching their current provider.

Launching on the 19 February, the site offers potential average savings of up to £257* a year on fuel and energy bills to residents across the Partnership.  It is a free and impartial energy switching service that residents can trust.

Matthew Bush, Sustainability Manager for MHP, says: ‘Our partnership with Switch with Which? is an important part of our action against fuel poverty.  Sustainability needs to be practical and relevant. In these tough economic times, using less energy and getting the best energy deal help us to save money and save the planet. We are proud that this new partnership will help us do this’

Alison Morrison, Head of Marketing at Switch with Which?, says: "We're delighted to be building this partnership with Metropolitan Housing Partnership.  We hope that it will enable us to reach out to many more households and help them get a better deal on their energy bills.”

She continues: ‘At Which? we aim to make individuals as powerful as the organisations they deal with in their everyday lives and this is more important than ever in the current economic climate.  We've done our best to make switching energy suppliers and saving money as simple as possible."

As part of the launch, MHP and Which? offered residents from Clapham Park Homes an ‘energy health check’ as part of a community event on held on Thursday 19 February.  The check included advice on saving energy in the home and guidance on switching supplier using the energy price comparison site.

Residents of Clapham Park Homes will also receive a newly published and easy to read energy advice leaflet.  This pictorially based leaflet has been distributed to all 36,000 MHP residents in advance of the EDF and eaga energy saving light bulb deal, in which all residents will get four free energy saving light bulbs.
