Anti-social behaviour

Anti-social behaviour is behaviour by a resident, member of their household or a visitor to the household that causes annoyance, nuisance or disturbance – basically anything that impacts on other people in a negative way. It can also include using (or threatening to use) homes for unlawful purposes.

 

This includes:

rowdy or nuisance behaviour

criminal damage

vandalism/arson

intimidation or harassment

drug dealing

noise nuisance

fly-tipping or fly posting

dog fouling

street drinking


Reporting ASB

Where it is possible and safe to do so, we encourage you, the resident, to try and resolve the matter yourself. If it is not possible to do this, you can report ASB:

  • by calling Customer Services on 0845 601 5042
  • ONLINE
  • You can also report ASB in person or by writing to us at our Head Office

You should contact the police and/or other emergency services by dialling 999 if someone is injured, being threatened or in danger.

ASBWhat will happen when I report ASB?

We take all reports of ASB seriously. When you report an incident you will be asked a series of questions to help us assess the problem.

We may ask you to fill in an Incident Diary to record re-occurring incidents of ASB or harassment. Download Incident Diary

Depending on the case, we may then carry out a further investigation and take any necessary action to resolve the situation. All cases are recorded.

Initial response times for ASB

The response times depend on the severity of the incident reported.

High: 1 to 2 working days
These cases include drug-dealing, criminal activity involving violence or assault, racial and all hate related harassment, serious damage to property, hate related incidents and abusive graffiti.

Standard: 7 to 10 working days
These cases include allegations of aggressive or abusive behaviour, frequent loud noise and non-abusive graffiti. This also includes allegations of breaches of tenancy conditions such as pet nuisance, untidy gardens, litter, car repairs and so on.
